About

Lancy is a conversational app builder that creates complete, working applications from a plain-language description. Users state an idea in a sentence, review and approve a structured plan, and Lancy generates the interface, server logic and database. The product also includes Vinci, a visual programming representation that animates how code, data and server calls actually behave, so users can understand what was built rather than just accept it.

The workflow has four steps: describe the idea, approve a plan showing who uses the app and what data it saves, let Lancy build and self-check the result, then request changes in plain words and share the app at its own lancy.ai link. Nothing is built until the plan is approved, and saved data persists across version changes. Lancy is developed by Atlancer and is currently available by waitlist, while its companion Vinci Academy is open to everyone.

Key Features

Conversational app building: Users describe what they want in everyday language, and Lancy may ask a clarifying question before shaping the plan.
Plan-first workflow: Before any code is written, Lancy presents the app's look, user steps, and the data it will save, which the user can change and approve.
End-to-end generation: Lancy writes the app's interface, server and database, then checks that it opens, saves the approved data, and that buttons and forms work.
Plain-language edits: Changes are requested in a sentence, and existing saved data carries over to the new version.
Vinci visual code: Opening Vinci beside the app lets users watch each action travel from the interface through the server to the saved data, step by step; it shows most app functions and states clearly when a step cannot be visualized.
JavaScript visualization: Users can paste their own JavaScript into Vinci and see objects drawn as balls and values as pills.
Vinci Academy: A free set of thirteen short lessons that teach JavaScript from scratch by having Vinci draw the code as it runs, ending with a real app built in Lancy.

Pricing & Fees

  • Pricing: Joining the waitlist and the Vinci Academy are free. Building requires a plan once approved: Lancy is US$15 per month when using your own Claude account, and Lancy + AI is US$25 per month including US$10 of Lancy AI credits.
  • Free tier: The Academy is open to everyone at no cost, with no prior coding experience needed.
  • Access model: Lancy is invite-only during early access; joining the waitlist requires no card and only an email address.
  • Current capability limits: Apps can store their own data such as lists, records, bookings and notes with text, numbers, dates and yes/no values. Sign-in, payments, emails, photos, file uploads and live external data are not yet supported.
  • Expert help: Every app includes an Ask an expert button that provides a rough estimate while typing and a fixed quote before any paid work begins; asking costs nothing.

Who It's For

Lancy suits people who have an app idea but cannot code, such as hobbyists, book clubs, small teams and solo founders prototyping simple data-driven tools like shared lists, trackers, bookings or notes. It also serves students and coding beginners, who can use the free Vinci Academy to learn JavaScript visually and then watch Vinci explain the apps Lancy builds for them. Anyone needing features beyond Lancy's current scope can use the built-in expert request option.

FAQ

Do I need to know how to code to use Lancy? No. Users describe what they want in plain words and Lancy builds it; Vinci and the Academy are optional ways to understand and learn the code behind the app.

How much does Lancy cost? The waitlist and Academy are free. Once approved, Lancy costs US$15 per month with your own Claude account, or US$25 per month for Lancy + AI including US$10 of Lancy AI credits.

Can I share the apps I build?Yes. Apps stay private to you and your workspace until published, after which they get their own lancy.ai link that can be kept private or opened to anyone with the link.

What can Lancy apps do today, and what is not supported yet?Apps keep their own saved data using text, numbers, dates and yes/no values; sign-in, payments, emails, photos, file uploads and live data from other websites are not yet available.

Does Vinci show everything the code does?Vinci shows the trip to the server and every save and read, and for most apps the app's own functions as well; it explicitly says so when a step cannot be shown.
