Audyo
Audyo converts published newsletters, blog posts, and articles into human-quality audio in minutes, with branded players readers can play or embed anywhere.
About
Audyo is a web-based tool that turns written content — newsletters, blog posts, and articles — into human-quality audio in minutes. It addresses a common problem for writers and publishers: producing audio versions of text is normally slow and expensive, while readers increasingly want to listen rather than read. Audyo generates the audio automatically and attaches a branded, embeddable player to each post.
The workflow has three steps. A writer pastes a link to a post that is already published, refines the audio in the Audyo Studio, and then shares or embeds a player on any site. Players match the publication's branding, and readers listen in the browser with no app download. Audyo serves individual creators as well as larger publications and platforms, and offers an API, oEmbed support, and a WordPress integration so new posts are converted automatically.
Key Features
Pricing & Fees
- Pricing: A Free plan costs $0 and includes 30 minutes of audio per month, every voice, public listen pages and embeds, and MP3 downloads. A Pro plan costs $15 per month (billed monthly or yearly) with 5 hours of audio per month, AI writing tools, sound effects and music, background tracks, audio uploads, custom player colors, a custom spoken intro on downloads, and subtitles (SRT) and ZIP downloads.
- Free tier available: The Free plan lets creators try the service without payment.
- No app for readers: Listening happens in the browser where readers already read, and streaming is unlimited — creators pay to create audio, not per stream.
- Audyo Assistant: A person on the Audyo team checks that new content sounds right, and selected VIP writers use Audyo free with audio prepared by the team.
Who It's For
Audyo is built for writers and publishers who want audio versions of existing text with minimal effort. That includes Substack writers (who can work from a preview link and download audio for podcasts or voiceovers), newsletter writers issuing regular updates, Medium writers embedding players in each post, and publications or newsrooms that want players inside every article. Platform developers can also integrate branded players with a single line of code or via the API. The vendor notes it currently handles very technical writing, such as scientific or financial content, and non-English content less well.
